An Individual, limited edition, example of vinyl record silhouette art made from a genuine, original, 45rpm, 7” single of Girls Just Want To Have Fun from 1983, by American, Cyndi Lauper. This vinyl single has been reworked into the female gender symbol.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun was originally written by Robert Hazard, from a males point of view, and was about women in the bedroom. Cyndi Lauper did not originally want to sing it because of its meaning. So her version carried a feminist attitude, trying to portray that all women really wanted was to have the same experience that men could have. Lauper’s version gained worldwide recognition as a feminist anthem and has been covered by over 30 other artists.
