Suzi Quatro – The Artist

Susan Kay Quatro better known as Suzi Quatro (born 1950) is an American rock singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and actress. She was the first female bass player to become a major rock star and play glam rock. In the 1970s, Quatro scored a string of hit singles that found greater success in Europe and Australia than in her homeland. She reached no. 1 in the UK and other European countries and Australia with her singles “Can the Can” (1973) and “Devil Gate Drive” (1974). Following a recurring role as bass player Leather Tuscadero on the popular American sitcom Happy Days, her duet “Stumblin’ In” with Smokie’s lead singer Chris Norman reached No. 4 in the US.
Quatro released her eponymous debut album in 1973. Since then, she has released fifteen studio albums, ten compilation albums, and one live album. Her other solo hits include “48 Crash”, “Daytona Demon”, “The Wild One”, and “Your Mama Won’t Like Me”.

Daytona Demon – The Song

‘Daytona Demon is written by N.Chinn and M.Chapman and performed by Suzi Quatro. It is the fourth solo single and third UK hit by Suzi Quatro, released in 1973. The song is frequently believed to be a revision of Freddy Cannon’s “Tallahassee Lassie” and a reference to Daytona Beach in Florida in which Quatro’s lover is equated with a fast car. “Daytona Demon” was never included on the US or other foreign release of her second album Quatro and remained unavailable in any format in the US until the advent of the CD and numerous compilations in the 1990s. “Daytona Demon” has been a staple of Quatro’s numerous hits compilation albums since then.

Daytona Dodge Charger  – The Shape

This record has been modelled into a  silhouette of a Daytona Dodge Charger saloon racing car. Dodge, an American automobile brand, produced three separate vehicles with the name Dodge Charger Daytona, all of which were modified Dodge Chargers. The name is taken from Daytona Beach, Florida, which was an early centre for auto racing and still hosts the Daytona 500, one of NASCAR’s premier events.
