Guns N’ Roses – The Artist

Guns N’ Roses, often abbreviated as GNR, is an American hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1985. When they signed to Geffen Records in 1986, the band comprised vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. The current lineup consists of Rose, Slash, McKagan, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer and keyboardist Melissa Reese. In their early years, the band’s hedonism and rebelliousness drew comparisons to the early Rolling Stones and earned them the nickname “the most dangerous band in the world.” Guns N’ Roses have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, including 45 million in the United States.

Paradise City – The Song

Paradise City is a song by the American rock band Guns N’ Roses, featured on their debut album, Appetite for Destruction (1987). It was released as a single in November 1988. It is also the only song on the album to feature a synthesiser. It is frequently played at sports stadiums during games along with “Welcome to the Jungle”, also from Appetite for Destruction.

Guns and Roses Logo – The Shape

This record has been modelled into the bands logo which incorporates a skull, two pistols and two roses, similar to a skull and crossbones. A skull and crossbones is a symbol consisting of a human skull and two long bones crossed together under or behind the skull. The design originates in the Late Middle Ages as a symbol of death and especially as a memento mori on tombstones. In modern contexts, it is generally used as a hazard symbol that warns of danger, usually in regard to poisonous substances, such as deadly chemicals.
