Suzi Quatro – The Artist

Susan Kay Quatro better known as Suzi Quatro (born 1950) is an American rock singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and actress. She was the first female bass player to become a major rock star and play glam rock. In the 1970s, Quatro scored a string of hit singles that found greater success in Europe and Australia than in her homeland. She reached no. 1 in the UK and other European countries and Australia with her singles “Can the Can” (1973) and “Devil Gate Drive” (1974). Following a recurring role as bass player Leather Tuscadero on the popular American sitcom Happy Days, her duet “Stumblin’ In” with Smokie’s lead singer Chris Norman reached No. 4 in the US.
Quatro released her eponymous debut album in 1973. Since then, she has released fifteen studio albums, ten compilation albums, and one live album. Her other solo hits include “48 Crash”, “Daytona Demon”, “The Wild One”, and “Your Mama Won’t Like Me”.

The Wild One – The Song

‘The Wild one is written by N.Chinn and M.Chapman and performed by Suzi Quatro. It was a song taken from her tendon studio album Quatro. The album achieved success in several territories from which came the hit singles. “Devil Gate Drive” the “The Wild One” and “Too Big”. “The Wild One” was featured in Floria Sigismondi’s 2010 film, The Runaways, a coming-of-age/biopic about Cherie Currie (portrayed by Dakota Fanning) and the 1970s all-girl rock band, The Runaways (the film was inspired by and loosely based on Currie’s 1989 memoir, “Neon Angel”). Suzi Quatro was a major influence both musically and personally for The Runaways and especially Joan Jett, so the film makes several references to her.
