Additional information about this Bill Withers vinyl art.

Bill Withers – The Artist

Bill Withers (William Harrison Withers Jr. (born 1938)  is an American soul/funk singer-songwriter and musician who performed and recorded from 1970 until 1985. He recorded several major hits, including Ain’t No Sunshine, and Lovely Day.

Ain’t No Sunshine (The Eclipse Mix)  – The Song

Ain’t No Sunshine (The Eclipse Mix) is a song by American soul and R&B singer Bill Withers. Withers was inspired to write this song after watching the 1962 film Days of Wine and Roses. He explained, in reference to the characters played by Lee Remick and Jack Lemmon, “They were both alcoholics who were alternately weak and strong. It’s like going back for seconds on rat poison. Sometimes you miss things that weren’t particularly good for you. It’s just something that crossed my mind from watching that movie.”

Rain Cloud – The Shape

A cloud (as a nimbus) brings rain water and is generally viewed as bad weather. The idea of the rain cloud was taken from the picture sleeve of the Bill Withers single, Ain’t No Sunshine (the Eclipse Mix) which shows a raincoat clad man walking in a street while it is raining.
