Status Quo – The Artist/s

Status Quo are an English rock band who play boogie rock. The group originated in The Spectres, founded by Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster in 1962, while still schoolboys. After a number of lineup changes, which included the introduction of Rick Parfitt in 1967, the band became The Status Quo in 1967 and Status Quo in 1969. They have had over 60 chart hits in the UK, more than any other rock band, including “Rocking All Over The World” in 1977, “Whatever You Want” in 1979 and “In the Army Now” in 1986 and 2010. Twenty-two of these reached the Top 10 in the UK Singles Chart. In July 1985 the band opened Live Aid at Wembley Stadium with “Rockin’ All Over the World”. In 1991, Status Quo received a Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. The band appeared on Top Of The Pops more than any other artist. They have released over 100 singles and 33 albums, several of which were best-sellers.

The Anniversary Waltz – The Song

“The Anniversary Waltz” is the title of two medley singles released in 1990 by English rock band Status Quo. The medleys consist of hit songs from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. One of the songs performed, Dion’s “The Wanderer” had previously been covered by Quo in 1984. “The Anniversary Waltz” was divided into two parts for release as a single. Part One was the bigger hit, reaching number two on the UK Singles Chart, and was included on their 1990 compilation album Rocking All Over the Years.

The 50 Symbol – The Shape

This record has been modelled into the number fifty. The traditional colour for a 50th anniversary is gold. This is commonly referred to as the “Golden Anniversary” . Gold symbolises the preciousness and enduring nature of a 50-year marriage, reflecting the strength and value of the relationship.
