Journey – The Artist

Journey is an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1973 by former members of Santana, the Steve Miller Band, and Frumious Bandersnatch. The band as of 2024 consists of Neal Schon on guitars and vocals (the last remaining original member); Jonathan Cain on keyboards, guitars and vocals; Deen Castronovo on drums and vocals; Arnel Pineda on lead vocals; Jason Derlatka on keyboards and vocals; and Todd Jensen on bass. Journey had their biggest commercial success between 1978 and 1987, when Steve Perry was lead vocalist; they released a series of hit songs, including “Don’t Stop Believin'” (1981), which in 2009 became the top-selling track in iTunes history among songs not released in the 21st century. Originally a progressive rock band, Journey was described as having cemented a reputation as “one of America’s most beloved commercial rock/pop bands” by 1978, when they redefined their sound by embracing pop arrangements on their fourth album,  According to sales data Journey has sold over 100 million records globally, making them one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time. Their songs have become arena rock staples and are still played on rock radio stations around the world

Any Way You Want It – The Song

‘Anyway You Want It’ is a song by American rock band Journey, released in February 1980 as the lead single from the band’s sixth album Departure (1980). Written by lead singer Steve Perry and guitarist Neal Schon. The song also appears on all four of the band’s live albums Captured, Greatest Hits Live, Live in Houston 1981: The Escape Tour, and Revelation on DVD. It remains a live staple for the band as well as a heavily rotated song on classic rock radio and a signature song for the band. According to Perry, the song was heavily influenced by Irish hard rock band Thin Lizzy and more particularly by bassist Phil Lynott. In July 1979, Journey were touring with Thin Lizzy across the United States when Lynott, Perry and Schon decided to share rhyme scheme exercises while they were hanging out in Miami.

The Scarab Beetle – The Shape

Modelled into the silhouette of a Scarab Beetle. The family Scarabaeidae, as currently defined, consists of over 35,000 species of beetles worldwide; they are often called scarabs or scarab beetles. Scarabs are stout-bodied beetles; most are brown or black in colour, but many, generally species that are diurnally active, have bright metallic colours, measuring between 1.5 and 160 millimetres (0.059 and 6.3 in). The antennae of most species superficially seem to be knobbed (capitate), but the several segments comprising the head of the antenna are, as a rule, lamellate: they extend laterally into plates called lamellae that they usually keep compressed into a ball. Then, when following a scent, such a beetle fans the lamellae out like leaves to sense odours.
