Additional information about this, Sparks vinyl art.

Sparks – The Artist

Sparks is an American pop and rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1972 by brothers Ron (keyboards) and Russell Mael (vocals). The duo formed in 1968 under the name Halfnelson. Known for their quirky approach to songwriting, Sparks’ music is often accompanied by intelligent, sophisticated, and acerbic lyrics, and an idiosyncratic, theatrical stage presence, typified in the contrast between Russell’s animated, hyperactive frontman antics and Ron’s deadpan scowling. They are also noted for Russell Mael’s distinctive wide-ranging voice and Ron Mael’s intricate and rhythmic keyboard playing style. While achieving chart success in various countries around the world, they have enjoyed a cult following since their first releases. During the late 1970s, when in collaboration with Giorgio Moroder, Sparks reinvented themselves as a new wave/synth-pop band, and abandoned the traditional rock band line-up. Their frequently changing styles and visual presentations have kept the band at the forefront of modern, artful pop music.

Beat The Clock – The Song

‘Beat The Clock’ is a disco song by the American rock duo Sparks. Released as a single in 1979, the song was produced and co-written by electro-disco producer Giorgio Moroder. It became a top 20 hit in the UK, where it peaked at number 10. The song was taken from the album No. 1 In Heaven and produced by Giorgio Moroder for Mellow B.V. During the late 1970s he was one of the premier producers, his working relationship grew from Sparks’ appreciation of Donna Summer’s dynamic “I Feel Love” which Moroder co-wrote and co-produced. The song is named after the US game show Beat the Clock.

The Metronome – The Shape

This record has been modelled into a silhouette of a metronome. A metronome, from ancient Greek is a device that produces an audible click or other sound at a regular interval that can be set by the user, typically in beats per minute (BPM). Metronomes may include synchronised visual motion. Musicians use the device to practise playing to a regular pulse. Musicians practise with metronomes to improve their timing, especially the ability to stick to a regular tempo. Metronome practice helps internalise a clear sense of timing and tempo. Composers and conductors often use a metronome as a standard tempo reference—and may play, sing, or conduct to the metronome. The metronome is used by composers to derive beats per minute if they want to indicate that in a composition. Conductors use a metronome to note their preferred tempo in each section.

Beat the Clock is an American television game show that involves people trying to complete challenges to win prizes while faced with a time limit. The show was a. creation of Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions. It ran for 5 season between 1969 and 1974.
