An Individual, limited edition, example of vinyl record silhouette art made from a genuine, original, 45rpm, 7” single of Congratulations from 1968, by Cliff Richard. Released on the Columbia record label, this vinyl single has been hand reworked into a silhouette of a winning rosette.
Congratulations is a song written by Bill Martin and Phil Coulter, as the UK entry in the 1968 Eurovision Song Contest with Cliff Richard performing. The song was immediately popular in the UK and became a number one single. It finished second in the contest losing to Spain’s entry “La, la, la” by just one point, but was still a huge hit throughout Europe. The song is still popular today and was chosen to lead the show which recently celebrated 50 years of Eurovision and which was named after it: Congratulations.
