David Bowie – The Artist

David Robert Jones (8 January 1947 – 10 January 2016), known professionally as David Bowie was an English singer, songwriter and actor who is often considered to be one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. He was a leading figure in popular music and was acclaimed by critics and fellow musicians for his innovative work, particularly for his work during the 1970s. His career was marked by reinvention and visual presentation, with his music and stagecraft significantly influencing popular music.

Drive-In Saturday (Seattle – Phoenix) – The Song

Drive-In Saturday is a song by David Bowie from his 1973 album Aladdin Sane. Heavily influenced by 1950s doo-wop, Drive-In Saturday describes how the inhabitants of a post-apocalyptic world in the future have forgotten how to make love, and need to watch old porn films to see how it’s done. The narrative has been cited as an example of Bowie’s “futuristic nostalgia”, where the story is told from the perspective of an inhabitant of the future looking back in time.

Bowie – The Shape

Though David Bowie was constantly reinventing himself the ‘Low’ period in which he grew his hair long and coloured it Orange is a firm favourite with fans.
