Additional information about this, Simon May Orchestra vinyl art.

The Simon May Orchestra – The Artist

Simon May (born 1944) is a British musician and composer. He has composed many British television theme tunes, including EastEnders and Howards’ Way, and the music for the 1988 film The Dawning.

The EastEnders Theme – The Song

The EastEnders Theme’ is a song for the British TV soap EastEnders. Tony Holland and Julia Smith commissioned Simon May to write the theme to EastEnders after being impressed by his work on spy-thriller Cold Warrior. Don Black put lyrics to the popular theme, and Anita Dobson (who portrayed Angie Watts in the show) reached number 4 in the UK in August 1986 with “Anyone Can Fall in Love”. May, was also commissioned to rework “Julia’s Theme”, a slow, piano version of the main theme traditionally used at “the end of episodes featuring intense emotion or drama”.

Queen Victoria – The Shape

This record has been cut into the bust of Queen Victoria inspired by The public house of the same name that is a central feature within the TV drama, EastEnders. EastEnders is a British soap opera created by Julia Smith and Tony Holland which has been broadcast on BBC One since 1985. Set in Albert Square in the East End of London in the fictional borough of Walford, the programme follows the stories of local residents and their families as they go about their daily lives. Initially there were two 30-minute episodes per week, later increasing to three, but since 2001, episodes have been broadcast on every weekday except Wednesday (outside of special occasions). EastEnders remains a significant programme in terms of the BBC’s success and audience share. It has also been important in the history of British television drama, tackling many subjects that are considered to be controversial or taboo in British culture, and portraying a social life previously unseen on UK mainstream television
