Pet Shop Boys – The Artist

Pet Shop Boys are an English synth-pop duo, formed in London in 1981 and consisting of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe. Pet Shop Boys have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, and are listed as the most successful duo in UK music history by The Guinness Book of Records. Three-time Brit Award winners and six-time Grammy nominees, since 1985 they have achieved 42 Top 30 singles, 22 of them Top 10 hits in the UK Singles Chart, including four UK number ones: “West End Girls, “It’s a Sin”, a synthpop version of “Always on My Mind”, and “Heart”. Other hit songs include a cover of “Go West”, “Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots of Money)” and “What Have I Done to Deserve This?” in a duet with Dusty Springfield.

It’s A Sin – The Song

‘It’s A Sin’ is written by Neil Tenant and Chris Lowe of the Pet Shop Boys and was the first single from their album Actually and one of their most popular songs. Lyrically it accuses the church and / or God of making sins out of too many things. Art from being a big hit internationally it, some religious leaders actually praised it for raising and seriously discussing the subject of sin, rarely noted in popular culture.

The Monks Habit – The Shape

This record has been modelled into the silhouette of  a monk dressed in a habit. A religious habit is a distinctive set of religious clothing worn by members of a religious order. Traditionally some plain garb recognisable as a religious habit has also been worn by those leading the religious eremitic and anchoritic life, although in their case without conformity to a particular uniform style. In the typical Roman Catholic or Anglican orders, the habit consists of a tunic covered by a scapular and cowl, with a hood for monks or friars and a veil for nuns.
