An Individual, limited edition, example of vinyl record silhouette art made from a genuine, original, 45rpm, 7” single of The Love Cats from 1986, by The Cure. Released on the Fiction record label, this vinyl record has been reworked into the head of a domestic cat.

Also known as The Lovecats, the song, The Love Cats  was written by Robert Smith and the bands first major hit. It was reportedly written following his interest in the work of Australian author Patrick White. He was inspired after reading the novel, The Vivisector which draws a parallel between the way in which the cats are discarded, and the treatment of certain characters in the book.
