Elton John – The Artist

Sir Elton Hercules John CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight) is an English singer, pianist, and composer. He has worked with lyricist Bernie Taupin as his songwriting partner since 1967; they have collaborated on more than 30 albums to date. In his five-decade career Elton John has sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world. He has also composed music, produced records, and has occasionally acted in films.

Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds – The Song

Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds is a song credited to Lennon–McCartney that appears on the Beatles’ 1967 album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. John Lennon started production of the song, and then Paul McCartney contributed to it in a songwriting session. Lennon’s son Julian inspired the song with a nursery school drawing he called “Lucy—in the sky with diamonds”. Shortly after the song’s release, speculation arose that the first letter of each of the title nouns intentionally spelled “LSD”. Lennon consistently denied this, insisting the song’s fantastical imagery was inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland books, a claim repeatedly confirmed by Paul McCartney.

The Diamond – The Shape

Diamond is a solid form of carbon with a diamond cubic crystal structure. At room temperature and pressure it is metastable and graphite is the stable form, but diamond almost never converts to graphite. Diamond is renowned for its superlative physical qualities, most of which originate from the strong covalent bonding between its atoms. In particular, it has the highest hardness and thermal conductivity of any bulk material. Those properties determine the major industrial applications of diamond in cutting and polishing tools and the scientific applications in diamond knives and diamond anvil cells. Diamonds are cut often in pear and oval shapes, then highly polished and used in jewellery.
