An individual, limited edition, example of vinyl record silhouette art made from a genuine, original, 45rpm, 7” single, Only The Lonely from 1964, by Roy Orbison. Released on the Monument record label, this vinyl single has been reworked into a silhouette head of Roy Orbison with his unmistakable dark glasses and slicked back hair.

Only the Lonely  was written by Roy Orbison and Joe Melson. Orbison’s recording of the song, produced by Fred Foster for Monument Records, was the first major hit for the singer. Capitalising on his voice, Orbison and Melson now began constructing songs with Orbison’s voice in mind, specifically to showcase its range and power.
