An individual, limited edition, example of vinyl record silhouette art made from a genuine, original, 45rpm, 7” single, Rat In Mi Kitchen by UB40 from 1986 on the DEP International record label. This vinyl single has been reworked into a silhouette of a rat.

Rat in Mi Kitchen is attributed to UB40, the whole group, but the song was actually written by band member, Astro. At the time lead singer, Ali Campbell had just moved into a new home and was troubled by rodents. When asked by Astro if he has any ideas for new songs he replied, “I don’t care about the album for a minute, I’ve got a rat in the kitchen!” Astro, who sings lead vocals on the song, wrote the track in response. Rat in Mi Kitchen features Herb Alpert on trumpet and was taken from their album Rat in the Kitchen.
