Additional information about this, Anita Ward vinyl art.

Anita Ward – The Artist

Anita Ward (born 1957) is an American singer and musician. She is best known for her 1979 million selling chart-topper “Ring My Bell”. Before signing a recording contract, Anita Ward obtained a degree in psychology, and had become a schoolteacher. While recording her debut album, record label owner Frederick Knight presented her with a song he had written the previous year for Stacy Lattisaw. Anita Ward did not like the song, but Knight insisted that a dance track was needed to capitalise on the current disco trend, and Ward relented.

Ring my Bell – The Song

Ring My Bell is the single written by Frederick Knight and performed by Anita Ward. The song, which was originally a juvenile-targeted tune about teens talking on the telephone, was rewritten with more ‘adult’ lyrics and the result was the single “Ring My Bell”. The disco single became a world wide hit and her most successful song.

Desk / Counter Bell – The Shape

Modelled into the silhouette of a vintage shop counter or hotel lobby / reception bell. These loud metal bells were used so a customer could strike their top and call for service when no one was visible for service. A call bell (sometimes called a counter bell, service bell, reception bell ,or concierge bell) is a bell that alerts and causes attention to the attendant who hears it. A service counter bell is used in hotels or other such facilities where people need to call attention to the person in charge to check them in, take their bags, or for any other reasons. In use, this means the attendant need not necessarily be visible in the reception but can be in the back of the office performing some other type of work. They are usually made of a metal such as brass.
