The record was released on the CBS record label, in the UK, and has been reworked into the shape of a heart pierced with a fountain pen.
Released on his 1987 album, Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent D’Arby, it was an international success, reaching the top five in the singles chart around the world. It has been remixed and covered by various artists and is a popular song played at weddings.
