An individual, limited edition, example of vinyl record art made from a genuine, original, 45rpm, 7” single featuring the Dire Straits hit single from 1978, Sultans of Swing. Released on the Vertigo record label, this pop rock classic has been reworked into a Sultan , Sheik or a wise man from biblical times wearing an authentic head piece.

Sultans of Swing was written by Mark Knopfler and taken from their debit album.  Inspiration for the song came from witnessing a jazz band playing in the corner of a practically deserted pub in Deptford, South London. At the end of their performance, the lead singer announced that they were the Sultans of Swing, and Knopfler found the contrast between the group’s dowdy appearance and surroundings and their grandiose name amusing.
