Additional information about this Neil Diamond vinyl art.

Neil Diamond – The Artist

Neil Diamond (born 1941) is an American singer-songwriter, musician and actor. He has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling musicians of all time.

Sweet Caroline (Good Times Never Seemed So Good) – The Song

Sweet Caroline (Good Times Never Seemed So Good)  is a song written and performed by American recording artist Neil Diamond and released in June 1969 as a single with the title “Sweet Caroline (Good Times Never Seemed So Good)”. It was arranged by Charles Calello, and recorded at American Sound Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. In a 2007 interview, Diamond stated the inspiration for his song was John F. Kennedy’s daughter, Caroline, who was eleven years old at the time it was released. However, in 2014 Diamond said the song was about his then-wife Marcia, but he needed a three-syllable name to fit the melody.

The Sweet – The Shape

Sweets come in may shapes and sizes but the inspiration for this sweet is an old fashioned boiled sweet frequently wrapped in paper. A hard candy, or boiled sweet, is a sugar candy prepared from one or more sugar-based syrups that is heated to a temperature of 160 °C (320 °F) to make candy. Among the many hard candy varieties are stick candy such as the candy cane, lollipops, rock, aniseed twists, and bêtises de Cambrai. “Boiled” is a misnomer, as sucrose (a disaccharide) melts fully at approximately 186°C. Further heating breaks it into glucose and fructose molecules before it can vaporise. Most hard candy is nearly 100% sugar by weight, with a tiny amount of other ingredients for colour or flavour, and negligible water content in the final product. Recipes for hard candy may use syrups of sucrose, glucose, fructose or other sugars. Sugar-free versions have also been created.
