Mud – The Artist/s

The band was founded by lead guitarist Rob Davis (born 1947), lead vocalist Les Gray (1946-2004), drummer Dave Mount (born 1947-2006), and bassist Ray Stiles (born1946). The band appeared on The Basil Brush Show on BBC TV, and toured as support for Jack Jones. After years of unsuccessful singles, they were signed to Mickie Most’s Rak label, and had three Top 20 successes in 1973 with “Crazy”, “Hypnosis” and “Dyna-mite”.At the peak of their career, they also enjoyed British number one singles with “Tiger Feet”; and “Lonely This Christmas” (1974), an affectionate Elvis Presley pastiche; plus “Oh Boy” (1975), a cover of the Buddy Holly hit, which also featured on their album Mud Rock Volume 2. “Tiger Feet” sold over 500,000 copies in the UK and a million copies globally.

Tiger Feet – The Song

‘Tiger Feet’ is a popular song by the English glam rock band Mud, released in January 1974. Written and produced by the songwriting team of Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn, it was the first of three number No. 1 singles for the band, in the UK Singles Chart, followed later that year by “Oh Boy!” and “Lonely This Christmas”.

The Tiger Paw Print  – The Shape

This record has been modelled into the  poor print of a tiger. The tiger is the largest extant cat species and a member of the genus Panthera. It is most recognisable for its dark vertical stripes on orange-brown fur with a lighter underside. It is an apex predator, primarily preying on ungulates such as deer and wild boar. It is territorial and generally a solitary but social predator, requiring large contiguous areas of habitat, which support its requirements for prey and rearing of its offspring. Tiger cubs stay with their mother for about two years, before they become independent and leave their mother’s home range to establish their own.
