An individual, limited edition, example of vinyl record art made from a genuine, original, 45rpm, 7” single featuring the song the American musician, Prince from 1984, When Doves Cry. The record was released on the WEA International record label, in the UK, and has been reworked into the shape of a crying dove in flight.

When Doves Cry was written by Prince to match the theme of a particular segment of the film, Purple Rain – one which involved intermingled parental difficulties and a love affair. The song was a worldwide hit. In addition to vocals, he played all the instruments on the track and was notable in not having a bass line which was very unusual for a dance song from the era.
