Additional information about this Nancy Sinatra vinyl art.

Nancy Sinatra  – The Artist

Nancy Sandra Sinatra (born, 1940) is an American singer, actress, film producer and author. She is the elder daughter of Frank Sinatra and Nancy Sinatra (née Barbato) and is known for her 1965 signature hit “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’”. Nancy Sinatra began her career as a singer in November 1957 with an appearance on her father’s ABC television variety series The Frank Sinatra Show but initially achieved success only in Europe and Japan.  Between 1964 and 1968, Sinatra appeared in several feature films, co-starring with Peter Fonda in Roger Corman’s biker-gang movie The Wild Angels (1966) and alongside Elvis Presley in the musical drama Speedway (1968). Frank and Nancy Sinatra played a fictional father and daughter in the 1965 comedy Marriage on the Rocks.

You Only Live Twice – The Song

‘You Only Live Twice’  is the theme song to the 1967 James Bond film of the same name from its accompanying soundtrack album. It was written by Leslie Bricusse with music by veteran Bond film composer John Barry, and performed by Nancy Sinatra. It is widely recognised for its striking opening bars, featuring a simple 2-bar theme in the high octaves of the violins and lush harmonies from French horns (featuring a melody originally from Alexander Tcherepnin’s “First Piano Concerto (op. 12)”), and is considered by some among the best Bond film songs. Shortly after Barry’s production, Sinatra’s producer Lee Hazlewood released a more guitar-based single version. The song has been covered by many artists, including Shirley Bassey, Soft Cell, Björk and Coldplay. In 1998, Robbie Williams re-recorded portions of the song (including the opening strings) for use in his UK number-one single “Millennium”., like other songs Hazlewood wrote, “Sugar Town” was equivocal, speaking to a young audience able to recognise its allusion, yet outwardly tame enough to receive radio play.

James Bond – The Shape

This record has been cut into the unmistakable shape of James Bond 007 in his black Tuxedo from the film You Only Live Twice. You Only Live Twice is a 1967 spy film and the fifth in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions, starring Sean Connery as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. It is the first of three Bond films to be directed by Lewis Gilbert. The screenplay of You Only Live Twice was written by Roald Dahl, and loosely based on Ian Fleming’s 1964 novel of the same name. In the film, Bond is dispatched to Japan after American and Soviet-crewed spacecraft vanish mysteriously in orbit, each nation blaming the other amidst the Cold War. Bond travels secretly to a remote Japanese island to find the perpetrators, and comes face-to-face with Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the head of SPECTRE. The film reveals the appearance of Blofeld, who was previously unseen. SPECTRE is working for the government of an unnamed Asian power, implied to be China, to provoke war between the superpowers.
