Additional information about this Pink Floyd vinyl art.

Pink Floyd – The Artist

Pink Floyd were an English rock band formed in London in 1965. Gaining a following as a psychedelic rock group, they were distinguished for their extended compositions, sonic experimentation, philosophical lyrics and elaborate live shows, and became a leading band of the progressive rock genre. They are one of the most commercially successful and influential bands in popular music history. Pink Floyd were one of the first British psychedelia groups, and are credited with influencing genres such as progressive rock and ambient music. By 2013, they had sold more than 250 million records worldwide, with The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall two of the best-selling albums of all time.

Another Brick In The Wall – The Song

‘Another Brick In The Wall‘ is a single by the British rock band Pink Floyd.  Another Brick in the Wall is the title of three songs set to variations of the same basic theme, on Pink Floyd’s 1979 rock opera, The Wall, subtitled Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3. Part 2 is a protest song against rigid schooling in general and boarding schools in the UK in particular. It was also released as a single and provided the band’s only number-one hit in the United Kingdom.

The Pig – The Shape

This record has been cut into the farmyard pig that was made into a large inflatable and flown over Battersea Power Station. The Battersea Power Station and the pink farmyard pig have both become symbolic with Pink Floyd as their tenth studio album, Animals from 1975 had the power station on the vinyl record cover and included the song Pig on The Wing. Like most Pink Floyd vinyl 7″singles, they have now become highly collectable and Pig on The Wing is no exception, hence the use of the more obtainable Another Brick In The Wall. The domestic pig, often called swine, hog, or simply pig when there is no need to distinguish it from other pigs, is a domesticated large, even-toed ungulate. It is variously considered a subspecies of the Eurasian boar or a distinct species. The domestic pig’s head-plus-body length ranges from 0.9 to 1.8 m (35 to 71 in), and adult pigs typically weigh between 50 and 350 kg (110 and 770 lb), with well-fed individuals often exceeding this weight range. The size and weight of hogs largely depends on their breed. Compared to other artiodactyls, a pig’s head is relatively long, pointed, and free of warts. Most even-toed ungulates are herbivorous, but domestic pigs are omnivores, like their wild relative. When used as livestock, domestic pigs are farmed primarily for the consumption of their flesh, called pork. The animal’s bones, hide, and bristles are also used in products. Domestic pigs, especially miniature breeds, are kept as pets.
