Jam Tronik – The Artist
Jam Tronik was a German Eurodance group which consisted of members Anja Lukaseder (also known as Nikita Warren), Ulrich Fischer and Volkmar Kalff. Charlie Glass was the founder and producer of the project. The group released dance cover versions, several of which were hits in Europe. They were signed to ZYX Music. Their 1989 debut single, a cover of the Phil Collins hit “Another Day in Paradise”, was a top 20 hit in Germany and the United Kingdom in 1990.
Another Day In Paradise – The Song
“Another Day in Paradise” is the Jam Tronik club version of a song originally recorded by English drummer and singer-songwriter Phil Collins. The track has as its subject the problem of homelessness and paradise. The song is sung from a third-person perspective, as Anja Lukaseder observes a man crossing the street to ignore a homeless woman, and she implores listeners not to turn a blind eye to homelessness because, by drawing a religious allusion, “it’s just another day for you and me in paradise”. Anja Lukaseder also appeals directly to God by singing: “Oh Lord, is there nothing more anybody can do? Oh Lord, there must be something you can say.” This dance club version of Phil Collins song was a particular success in the UK and Germany.
