Sound And Vision – David Bowie (1977)

(1 customer review)

An individual, limited edition, example of vinyl record silhouette art made from a genuine, original, 45rpm, 7” single featuring the 1977 hit, Sound And Vision by David Bowie. The vinyl single has been reworked into a silhouette head of David Bowie, highlighting the unmistakable hair style he had during this period and wore in the film, The Man Who Fell To Earth.

Sound and Vision appeared on the David Bowie album, titled Low in 1977. The song is notable for juxtaposing an uplifting guitar and synthesiser-led instrumental track with Bowie’s withdrawn lyrics. In keeping with the minimalist approach of Low, it was originally an instrumental, bar the backing vocal, but Bowie then recorded his vocal after the rest of the band had left the studio.
