Additional information about this, Patti Smith vinyl art.

Patti Smith – The Artist

Patricia Lee “Patti” Smith (born 1946) is an American singer, songwriter, poet, painter, and author who became an influential component of the New York City punk rock movement with her 1975 debut album Horses. Called the “punk poet laureate”, Smith fused rock and poetry in her work. Her most widely known song, “Because the Night”, co-written with Bruce Springsteen, number five on the UK Singles Chart.

Because The Night – The Song

“Because The Night is a rock song written by Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith that was first released in 1978 as a single from the Patti Smith Group album Easter. This version was popular in both the United Kingdom and the US, and helped propel sales of Easter to mainstream success. The song has subsequently been covered by numerous artists, and at least two of these cover versions have been chart hits. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band recorded “Because the Night” at Atlantic Studios in New York City on June 1, 1977, the first day of recording sessions for Darkness on the Edge of Town, though the lyrics only consisted of the song title and some mumbling. Springsteen struggled with the song for almost four months until his engineer, Jimmy Iovine, got involved. At the time, Iovine was also producing the album Easter for Smith at the Record Plant in New York City, where Darkness was being recorded.

Patti Smith – The Shape

This record is modelled into a silhouette of Patti Smith with her distinctive shaggy hairstyle and wide brimmed hat that she wore at the time. Also available with no hat but a red heart. See background option pulldown. A hairstyle, hairdo, haircut or coiffure refers to the styling of hair, usually on the human head but sometimes on the face or body. The fashioning of hair can be considered an aspect of personal grooming, fashion, and cosmetics, although practical, cultural, and popular considerations also influence some hairstyles.
