Bomber – Motörhead (1979)

An individual, limited edition, example of vinyl record silhouette art made from a genuine, original, 45rpm, 7” single, Bomber from 1979, by Motörhead. Released on the Bronze record label, this vinyl single has been reworked into a silhouette of a large bomb similar to those dropped by a plane during wartime.

Motörhead was Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister, guitarist Larry Wallis and drummer Lucas Fox. Though several guitarists and drummers have played in Motörhead, most of their best-selling albums and singles feature the work of “Fast” Eddie Clarke on guitar and Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor on drums.

The track, Bomber was inspired after Lemmy had read Len Deighton’s novel Bomber. It became the inspiration for a forty-foot aluminium tube lighting rig used for their shows, a replica of a Heinkel He 111 bomber.
