Madonna – The Artist

Madonna Louise Ciccone (born 1958) is an American singer-songwriter, actress and businesswoman. Referred to as the “Queen of Pop” since the 1980s, Madonna is known for pushing the boundaries of songwriting in mainstream popular music, as well as imagery in music videos and on stage. She has also frequently reinvented both her music and image while maintaining autonomy within the recording industry. Besides sparking controversy, her works have been praised by music critics. 

Gambler – The Song

“Gambler” is a song by American singer Madonna from the soundtrack album to the 1985 film Vision Quest. The song was written solely by Madonna, while the production was handled by John “Jellybean” Benitez at her request. It was released as the second single from the film’s soundtrack album in September 1985, by Geffen Records. “Gambler” was never released as a single in the United States, at the request of Madonna’s own Sire Records. The music video of the song is an excerpt from the film. According to Madonna the track is from the girl’s point of view, because she’s, like, an unstoppable person who doesn’t really need the guy in the film.

Playing Card Suits – The Shape

Modelled into a silhouette of the four french suits: clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades as found in a standard pack of 52 playing cards. A playing card is a piece of specially prepared card stock, heavy paper, thin cardboard, plastic-coated paper, cotton-paper blend, or thin plastic that is marked with distinguishing motifs. Often the front (face) and back of each card has a finish to make handling easier. They are most commonly used for playing card games which includes gambling. Playing cards are typically palm-sized for convenient handling, and usually are sold together in a set as a deck of cards or pack of cards. The standard 52-card deck of French playing cards (54 counting jokers) is the most common deck of playing cards used today. It includes thirteen ranks in each of the four French suits: clubs, diamonds, hearts and spades, with reversible “court” or face cards. Each suit includes an ace, a king, queen and jack, each depicted with a symbol of its suit; and ranks two through ten, with each card depicting that many symbols (pips) of its suit.
