Additional information about this, Judge Dread vinyl art.

Judge Dread – The Artist

Alexander Minto Hughes (1945 – 1998) better known as Judge Dread, was an English reggae and ska musician. He was the first white recording artist to have a reggae hit in Jamaica, and the BBC has banned more of his songs than those of any other recording artist, because of his frequent use of sexual innuendo and double entendres. Dread had 11 UK chart hits in the 1970s, which was more than any other reggae artist (including Bob Marley). The Guinness Book of World Records credited Judge Dread for having the highest number (eleven) of banned songs of all time. Several of his songs mentioned Snodland, the small town in Kent where Judge Dread lived, including “The Belle of Snodland Town”.

Look A Pussy – The Song

‘Look A Pussy’ is  a novelty song by reggae artist Judge Dread written by Lemon and Hughes. It is the b-side of his novelty version of the hit  Je T’aime (Moi Non Plus). Pussy is a noun, an adjective, and in rare uses a verb in the English language. It has several meanings, including use as slang, as euphemism, and as vulgarity. Common meanings of the noun include “cat”, as well as “coward or weakling”, and “the human vulva or vagina”, or as a synecdoche “sexual intercourse with a woman”. Because of its multiple senses including both innocent and vulgar connotations, “pussy” is often the subject of double entendre.

The Cat – The Shape

This record has been modelled into the silhouette cartoon of a domestic cat. The cat (Felis catus) is a domestic species of small carnivorous mammal. It is the only domesticated species in the family Felidae and is often referred to as the domestic cat to distinguish it from the wild members of the family. A cat can either be a house cat, a farm cat or a feral cat; the latter ranges freely and avoids human contact. Domestic cats are valued by humans for companionship and their ability to hunt rodents. About 60 cat breeds are recognised by various cat registries.
