Guns N’ Roses – The Artist
Guns N’ Roses, often abbreviated as GNR, is an American hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1985. When they signed to Geffen Records in 1986, the band comprised vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. The current lineup consists of Rose, Slash, McKagan, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer and keyboardist Melissa Reese. In their early years, the band’s hedonism and rebelliousness drew comparisons to the early Rolling Stones and earned them the nickname “the most dangerous band in the world.” Guns N’ Roses have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, including 45 million in the United States.
November Rain – The Song
November Rain is a song by the American hard rock band Guns N’ Roses. Written by the band’s lead vocalist Axl Rose, it was released as a single in 1992 from their third studio album, Use Your Illusion I (1991). “November Rain” it became a international success and it became one the longest songs in history to enter the charts. Since its release, the song has sold over a million copies worldwide and has been described as “one of the ultimate hard-rock power ballads”. The song is particularly well know for its use of the grand piano.
The Grand Piano – The Shape
This record has been modelled into a Grand Piano as played by Axl Rose from the band. The piano is an acoustic, stringed musical instrument invented in Italy by Bartolomeo Cristofori around the year 1700 (the exact year is uncertain), in which the strings are struck by hammers. It is played using a keyboard, which is a row of keys (small levers) that the performer presses down or strikes with the fingers and thumbs of both hands to cause the hammers to strike the strings.
