Additional information about this, The Rolling Stones vinyl art.

The Artist/s – The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London, England in 1962. The first stable line-up consisted of Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Mick Jagger (lead vocals), Keith Richards (guitar, backing vocals), Bill Wyman (bass), Charlie Watts (drums), and Ian Stewart (piano). The Rolling Stones were at the forefront of the British Invasion of bands that became popular in the United States in 1964, and identified with the youthful and rebellious counterculture of the 1960s,

Paint It Black – The Song

‘Paint It Black(originally released as “Paint It, Black”) is a song recorded by the English rock band the Rolling Stones. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, it is an uptempo song with Indian, Middle Eastern, and Eastern European influences featuring a sitar part played by multi-instrumentalist Brian Jones. The lyrics are about grief, death, and loss. Contemporary reviews at the time were mixed, with some music critics believing that its sitar sound was an attempt to copy the Beatles. Retrospectively, critics have considered “Paint It Black” more favourably, with Rolling Stone ranking it one of the greatest songs of all time. A chart success for the Stones, the song was number one in both the UK and the US. Since its initial release, the song has remained influential as the first number one hit featuring a sitar, particularly in the UK, where it has charted on two other occasions.

The US Vietnam Soldier – The Shape

This record is modelled into the silhouette of a crouching  US Vietnam Soldier holding an assault rifle. This piece was inspired by the the US TV Show ‘Tour of Duty.’ Tour of Duty is an American military drama television series based on events in the Vietnam War, broadcast on CBS. The series ran for three seasons, 1987, to 1990, for a total of 58 one-hour episodes. The show was created by Steve Duncan and L. Travis Clark and produced by Zev Braun. The show follows an American infantry platoon on a tour of duty during the Vietnam War. It was the first television series to regularly show Americans in combat in South Vietnam and was one of several similarly themed series to be produced in the wake of the acclaimed Oliver Stone film Platoon (1986).
