Additional information about this Depeche Mode vinyl art.

Depeche Mode – The Artist

Depeche Mode are an English electronic band formed in Basildon, Essex in 1980. The group consists of founders Dave Gahan (lead vocals, co-songwriting), Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, chief songwriting), and Andy Fletcher (keyboards, bass guitar). Depeche Mode released their debut album Speak & Spell in 1981, bringing the band onto the British new wave scene. Founding member Vince Clarke left after the release of the album; they recorded A Broken Frame (1982) as a trio. Gore took over the lead songwriting and, later in 1982, Alan Wilder joined to fill Clarke’s spot, establishing a lineup that continued for 13 years.

A Question of Time  – The Song

A Question of Time  was written by lead singer Martin Gore and is Depeche Mode’s seventeenth UK single, following the similarly titled “A Question of Lust” single. The single charted at 17 in the UK single charts. The 7″ remix of “A Question of Time” runs at a slightly faster tempo and pitch than the original “Black Celebration” album version. A version of the remix with an even faster tempo appeared on The Singles 86-98.

The Alarm Clock – The Shape

The traditional alarm clock with its distinctive two alarm bells on top of the circular body is a typical bedside alarm clock that was used in the period that this song was released.
