Additional information about this, Golden Earring vinyl art.

Golden Earring – The Artist/s

Golden Earring is a Dutch rock band, founded in 1961 in The Hague. They achieved worldwide fame with their international hit songs “Radar Love” in 1973, which went to number one on the Dutch charts, reached the top ten in the United Kingdom and went to number thirteen on the United States charts. During their career they have had nearly 30 top-ten singles on the Dutch charts while releasing 25 studio albums. The band’s lineup consists of co-founders Rinus Gerritsen (bass and keyboards) and George Kooymans (vocals and guitar), along with Barry Hay (vocals, guitar, flute and saxophone), and Cesar Zuiderwijk (drums and percussion). All musicians in the present lineup of the band have been continuous members of the band since 1970, although other musicians have joined and left the band during the intervening years.

Radar Love – The Song

‘Radar Love’ is a song by the Dutch rock band Golden Earring. The single version of “Radar Love” reached #10 on the Cash Box Top 100 and #13 in Billboard in the United States. It also hit the Top 10 in many countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, and Spain. Like other famous songs of the era (“Stairway to Heaven”, “Aqualung”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”), “Radar Love” is composed as a suite with several distinctive and quite different sections (although the tonality remains pretty much the same). Golden Earring’s “Radar Love” is one of rock music’s enduring anthems. Its is considered by many as a rock masterpiece, from its hooky chugging bassline, to its simple but unmistakable riffs, to its catchy anthemesque chorus. The song has been chosen by many magazines and websites as a Top 10 driving song.

The Speed Camera – The Shape

Modelled into the silhouette of a traffic camera warning sign inspired by the songs lead lyric, “I’ve been drivin’ all night, my hand’s wet on the wheel”. A traffic enforcement camera (also known as a road safety camera, photo radar, speed camera amongst other names depending on its use) is a camera which may be mounted beside or over a road or installed in an enforcement vehicle to detect motoring offences, including speeding, vehicles going through a red traffic light, vehicles going through a toll booth without paying, unauthorised use of a bus lane, or for recording vehicles inside a congestion charge area. It may be linked to an automated ticketing system.
