Peter Gabriel – The Artist

Peter Brian Gabriel (born 1950) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and activist. He rose to fame as the original lead singer of the progressive rock band Genesis. After leaving Genesis in 1975, he launched a successful solo career with “Solsbury Hill” as his first single. His 1986 album, So, is his best-selling release and is certified triple platinum in the UK and five times platinum in the U.S. The album’s most successful single, “Sledgehammer”, won a record nine MTV Awards at the 1987 MTV Video Music Awards and, according to a report in 2011, it was MTV’s most played music video of all time.

Steam – The Song

Steam’ is the second single from English rock musician Peter Gabriel’s 1992 album Us. Gabriel has said that the song is about a relationship in which the woman is sophisticated, bright, cultured, and knows everything about anything while the man knows nothing about anything; however, he does know about the woman, and she does not know much about herself.

The Kettle- The Shape

This record is modelled into a type of vintage domestic kettle. A kettle, sometimes called a tea kettle or teakettle, is a type of pot specialised for boiling water, commonly with a lid, spout, and handle, or a small electric kitchen appliance of similar shape that functions in a self-contained manner. Kettles can be heated either by placing on a stove, or by their own internal electric heating element in the appliance versions. As indicated by its name, the kettle was and is often used as tea ware to brew tea or prepare a tisane. Some very modern versions do more than just boil water, and also make the tea and keep it warm.

Steam is water in the gas phase. This may occur due to evaporation or due to boiling, where heat is applied until water reaches the enthalpy of vaporisation. Steam that is saturated or superheated is invisible; however, “steam” often refers to wet steam, the visible mist or aerosol of water droplets formed as water vapour condenses.
