Additional information about this, UB40 vinyl art.

UB40 – The Artist

UB40 are an English reggae and pop band, formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England. The band has had more than 50 singles in the UK Singles Chart, and has also achieved considerable international success with over 70 million records sold worldwide. The ethnic make-up of the band’s original line-up was diverse, with musicians of English, Welsh, Irish, Jamaican, Scottish and Yemeni parentage. The band’s line-up was stable for nearly 29 years, from 1979 until January, when frontman Ali Campbell left the band.

Red Red Wine – The Song

Red Red Wine is a 1983 single by the UK reggae band UB40. It is a cover-version of a 1967 single by American Singer Neil Diamond. The song was covered by several artists shortly after Diamond’s recording was released. In 1968, the Dutch singer Peter Tetteroo had a hit with a cover of the song in Netherlands. Tony Tribe covered the song in 1969 in a reggae-influenced style. In 1983, UB40 recorded the best known version of the song, in a lighter reggae style. The lyrics are sung from the perspective of a person who finds that drinking red wine is the only way to forget his woes.

Red Wine – The Shape

Modelled into the simple silhouette of a bottle of red wine and two red wine glasses. Red wine is a type of wine made from dark-coloured grape varieties. The actual colour of the wine can range from intense violet, typical of young wines, through to brick red for mature wines and brown for older red wines. The juice from most purple grapes is greenish-white, the red color coming from anthocyan pigments (also called anthocyanins) present in the skin of the grape; exceptions are the relatively uncommon teinturier varieties, which produce a red-coloured juice. Much of the red-wine production process therefore involves extraction of colour and flavour components from the grape skin. Red wine is a delicacy around the world.

A fantastic concept. Bought as a birthday gift for my girlfriend. It’s holds sentimental meaning of a song loved by her and her mum. She absolutely loved the present and it’s now proudly on display in the house. Excellent customer service throughout the purchase. Highly recomeded.
