Status Quo – The Artist

Status Quo are an English rock band who play boogie rock. The group originated in The Spectres, founded by Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster in 1962, while still schoolboys. After a number of lineup changes, which included the introduction of Rick Parfitt in 1967, the band became The Status Quo in 1967 and Status Quo in 1969. They have had over 60 chart hits in the UK, more than any other rock band, including “Rocking All Over The World” in 1977, “Whatever You Want” in 1979 and “In the Army Now” in 1986 and 2010. Twenty-two of these reached the Top 10 in the UK Singles Chart. In July 1985 the band opened Live Aid at Wembley Stadium with “Rockin’ All Over the World”. In 1991, Status Quo received a Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. The band appeared on Top Of The Pops more than any other artist. They have released over 100 singles and 33 albums, several of which were best-sellers.

Something ‘Bout You baby I Like – The Song

‘Something ‘Bout You baby I Like’ is a popular song written by guitarist Richard Supa in the early 1970s. The song was covered by many artists including this version by Status Quo. It was taken from the bands album ‘Never Too Late.’  . Other versions were done by  Glen Campbell and Rita Coolidge reached in 1980 and Tom Jones. in 1974. The version by Glen Campbell and Rita Coolidge prompted Francis Rossi of Status Quo to cover the song.

The Heart – The Shape

This record has been modelled into a loving heart. The heart shape and its meaning has evolved over hundreds of years. Nowadays it means love but before the 13th and 14th centuries it was generally drawn for decorative purposes. People at that time thought of our hearts as books of memory and believed feelings for the beloved were somehow written on your heart.

Jeans are a type of pants or trousers made from denim or dungaree cloth. Often the term “jeans” refers to a particular style of trousers, called “blue jeans”, with copper-riveted pockets which were invented by Jacob W. Davis in 1871 and patented by Jacob W. Davis and Levi Strauss on May 20, 1873. Prior to the patent, the term “blue jeans” had been long in use for various garments (including trousers, overalls, and coats), constructed from blue-colored denim.
