Don Henley – The Artist

Donald Hugh Henley (born 1947) is an American musician, and a founding member of the rock band Eagles, for whom he is the drummer and one of the lead vocalists, as well as the sole continuous member of the band. Henley sang the lead vocals on Eagles hits such as “Witchy Woman”, “Desperado”, “Best of My Love”, “One of These Nights”, “Hotel California”, “Life in the Fast Lane”, “Victim of Love”, “The Last Resort”, “The Long Run”, and “Get Over It”. After the Eagles disbanded in 1980, Henley pursued a solo career and released his debut studio album I Can’t Stand Still, in 1982. He has released five studio albums, two compilation albums, and one live DVD. His solo hits include “Dirty Laundry”, “The Boys of Summer”, “All She Wants to Do Is Dance”, “Sunset Grill”, “Not Enough Love in the World”, “The End of the Innocence”, “The Last Worthless Evening” and “The Heart of the Matter”.

The Boys of Summer  – The Song

“The Boys of Summer” is a song by the American musician Don Henley. The lyrics were written by Henley and the music was composed by Mike Campbell of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. It was released on October 26, 1984, as the lead single from Henley’s album Building the Perfect Beast. It performed well in both the Uk singles chart and the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart. The lyrics appear to be about the passing of youth and entering middle age, with the nostalgic theme of “summer love” and reminiscence of a past relationship. In a 1987 interview with Rolling Stone, Henley explained that the song is about aging and questioning the past—a recurring theme in Henley’s lyrics.

The Heart – The Shape

This record has been modelled into a loving heart. The heart shape and its meaning has evolved over hundreds of years. Nowadays it means love but before the 13th and 14th centuries it was generally drawn for decorative purposes. People at that time thought of our hearts as books of memory and believed feelings for the beloved were somehow written on your heart.
