The Chicago Bears Shufflin’ Crew – The Artist/s
The Chicago Bears Shufflin’ Crew are members of the Chicago Bears from 1985, a professional American football team who got together to make a song.
The Super Bowl Shuffle – The Song
‘The Super Bowl Shuffle‘ is a rap song performed by players of the Chicago Bears football team in 1985. It was released on December 3, 1985, through the Capitol Records imprint Red Label, and recorded the day after their only loss of the season at the hands of the Miami Dolphins, two months prior to their win in Super Bowl XX over the New England Patriots. The lyrics were written by Richard E. Meyer and Melvin Owens. The music was composed by Bobby Daniels and Lloyd Barry. The lyrics related to each player and his craft on the field, and fame in the community. The song was a considerable success in the US selling over 500,000 copies and over $300,000 in profits from the song and music video was donated to the Chicago Community Trust to help needy families in Chicago with clothing, shelter, and food
The American Football Helmet – The Shape
This record has been modelled into the silhouette of an American football helmet. The American football helmet is a piece of protective equipment used mainly in gridiron football. It consists of a hard plastic shell with thick padding on the inside, a face mask made of one or more plastic-coated metal bars, and a chinstrap. Each position has a different type of face mask to balance protection and visibility, and some players add polycarbonate visors to their helmets, which are used to protect their eyes from glare and impacts. Helmets are a requirement at all levels of organised American football, except for non-tackle variations such as flag football. Although they are protective, players can and do still suffer head injuries such as concussions.
The Chicago Bears are a professional American football team based in Chicago. The Bears compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) North division. The Bears have won nine NFL Championships, including one Super Bowl, and hold the NFL record for the most enshrinees in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the most retired jersey numbers. The Bears have also recorded more victories than any other NFL franchise.
