Additional information about this Diana Ross vinyl art.

Diana Ross – The Artist

Diana Ross (born March 26, 1944) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Ross rose to fame as the lead singer of the vocal group the Supremes, which, during the 1960s, became Motown’s most successful act, and are the best charting girl group in US history, as well as one of the world’s best-selling girl groups of all time. Following her departure from the Supremes in 1970, Diana Ross released her eponymous debut solo album that same year, which contained the Top 20 Pop hit “Reach Out and Touch (Somebody’s Hand)” and the number-one Pop hit “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”.

Upside Down – The Song

“Upside Down” is a song written and produced by Chic members Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. It was recorded by American singer Diana Ross. The song was issued from Motown as the lead single in 1980, from her eleventh studio album, Diana. “Upside Down” hit number one in the US and number two in the UK. The single was released a full four weeks after the album was released. It held down the number one spot for four weeks. “Upside Down” was also a big hit internationally, topping the singles charts in Sweden, Italy, Norway, and Switzerland, while reaching number five in Canada. It marked the highest peak performance from Ross as a solo artist since “I’m Still Waiting” in 1971. It also earned her a British Phonographic Industry silver disc award for sales in excess of 250,000 copies. In the song she sings about her lover who turns her inside out, and ,round and ,round. Upside Down.

The Upside Down Heart – The Shape

This record has been modelled into a loving heart. The heart shape and its meaning has evolved over hundreds of years. Nowadays it means love but before the 13th and 14th centuries it was generally drawn for decorative purposes. People at that time thought of our hearts as books of memory and believed feelings for the beloved were somehow written on your heart.
