Yellow – The Song
“Yellow” is a song by the British rock band Coldplay from their debut studio album, Parachutes (2000). The song was written by band members Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion, and co-produced it with British record producer Ken Nelson. “Yellow” is an alternative rock, post-Britpop, and pop rock song, lyrically discussing the mood of the band, which was described by Martin as “brightness, hope, and devotion”. A music video for the song was filmed at Studland Bay in May 2000, and features Martin walking along the beach singing “Yellow”, with no cuts present. “Yellow” received positive reviews from critics, and has been deemed a significant standout in Coldplay’s discography. Coldplay has included the song on the set lists of their various live performances, and has since been covered by various recording artists worldwide, and remains one of the band’s most popular songs.
The Sunflower – The Shape
This record has been modelled into a sunflower as shown on the records picrure sleeve. The common sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is a large annual forb in the daisy family Asteraceae. The domesticated form of common sunflower is harvested for its edible seeds, which come in two types: oil and confectionery seeds. Oilseed sunflowers are widely grown globally and represent the fourth most used vegetable oil in the world. They also are used widely as bird food or as food for livestock. In contrast, confectionery sunflower seeds are often eaten as a snack food or in baking. There also are horticultural sunflower varieties that are used as plantings in domestic gardens for aesthetics. Wild plants are known for their multiple flower heads, whereas the domestic sunflower often possesses a single large flower head atop an unbranched stem.
