Additional information about this, Don McLean vinyl art.

Don Mclean – The Artist

Donald McLean (born 1945) is an American singer-songwriter, best known for his 1971 hit song “American Pie”.

American Pie (Part One) – The Song

American Pie (Part One)  is a folk song written by Don McLean. It is split into two parts lasting 8.5-minute in total. It is a ballad about the loss of innocence of the early rock and roll generation inspired partly by the deaths of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. Richardson (The Big Bopper) in a plane crash in 1959, and developments in American youth culture in the subsequent decade. .

Thumbs Up – The Shape

This record has been modelled into a ‘thumbs up’ hand gesture inspired by the similar image taken from the front cover of the album ‘American Pie’ by Don McLean from which ‘American Pie’ was taken.  A thumb signal, usually described as a thumbs-up or thumbs-down, is a common hand gesture achieved by a closed fist held with the thumb extended upward or downward in approval or disapproval, respectively.
