Additional information about this Rod Stewart vinyl art.

Rod Stewart – The Artist

Rod Stewart (Sir Roderick David Stewart) is a British rock singer and songwriter. Born and raised in London, he is of Scottish and English ancestry. Stewart is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold over 100 million records worldwide. With his distinctive raspy singing voice, Stewart came to prominence in the late 1960s and the early 1970s with The Jeff Beck Group, and then with Faces. From the late 1970s through the 1990s, Stewart’s music often took on a new wave or soft rock/middle-of-the-road quality, and in the early 2000s, he released a series of successful albums interpreting the Great American Songbook. In 1994, Stewart staged the largest free rock concert in history when he performed in front of 3.5 million people in Rio de Janeiro.

First Cut is The Deepest – The Song

‘First Cut is The Deepest’ is Stewarts version of an original Cat Stevens song. It appeared on Rod Stewarts 1976 studio album A Night on the Town. It was released as a double A-side single with “I Don’t Want to Talk About It”. It was a huge success on both sides of the Atlantic. The song has since been covered by many other artists.

The Chainsaw – The Shape

This record has been modelled into a chainsaw as used by woodcutters and lumberjacks. A chainsaw (alternatively spelled chain saw) is a portable, mechanical saw which cuts with a set of teeth attached to a rotating chain that runs along a guide bar. It is used in activities such as tree felling, limbing, bucking, pruning, cutting firebreaks in wild land fire suppression and harvesting of firewood.
