ZZ Top – The Artist/s

ZZ Top is an American rock band from Houston, Texas, formed in 1969. The group consists of founder Billy Gibbons (guitar, lead vocals), Dusty Hill (bass, vocals) and Frank Beard (drums, percussion). Initially rooted in blues, The Bands style has evolved throughout their career, with a signature sound based on Gibbons’ blues guitar style and Hill and Beard’s rhythm section. Their lyrics, often embellished with sexual innuendo, focus on their Texas roots and humour. Popular for their live performances, the group has staged several elaborate tours. The band has released 15 studio albums and sold an estimated 50 million albums worldwide. They have won many awards throughout their career and support numerous campaigns charities.

Gimmie All Your Lovin’ – The Song

‘Gimme All Your Lovin’  is a song by ZZ Top from their 1983 album Eliminator. It was released as the album’s first single in 1983. Initially unsuccessful in the UK upon its August 1983 release, but following the band’s American success it was promptly re-released, and reached No. 10 on the UK Singles Chart. It ties with the band’s 1992 cover of Elvis Presley’s “Viva Las Vegas” as their highest-charting single in the UK. The song was produced by band manager Bill Ham, and recorded and mixed by Terry Manning. The music video was directed by Tim Newman and features the trio playing at a gas station. It introduces classic ZZ elements such as the red “ZZ Eliminator Car,” the “ZZ Keychain” and the “Three ZZ Girls” as heroines. It is the first of a series of music video to star the band.

The ZZ Eliminator Car – The Shape

This record has been cut into the ZZ Elimator. The ZZ Eliminator car was built in 1983 by Don Thelen of Buffalo Motor Cars in Paramount, California and Ronnie Jones of Hand Crafted Metal and with some help from Sid Blackard. It is based on a customised 1933 Ford coupe. The car was built with a Corvette-style engine fabricated by Hand Crafted Metal. The car has become recognisable for its red finish and graphics, which can be seen in several of the band’s music videos. The Eliminator has also made worldwide appearances in television, movies, auto shows and charity events.
