Joan Jett & The Blackhearts – The Artist

Joan Jett (born Joan Marie Larkin, 1958) is an American rock singer, songwriter, composer, musician, record producer, and actress. Jett is best known for her work as the front woman of her band Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, and for earlier founding and performing with the Runaways, which recorded and released the hit song “Cherry Bomb”. With The Blackhearts, Jett is known for her rendition of the song “I Love Rock ‘n Roll” which was number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks in 1982. Jett’s other notable songs include “Bad Reputation”, “Crimson and Clover”, “Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)”, “Light of Day”, “I Hate Myself for Loving You” and “Dirty Deeds”. Jett has a mezzo-soprano vocal range.

I Love Rock N’ Roll – The Song

‘I Love Rock N’ Roll  is a rock song written by Alan Merrill and Jake Hooker and first recorded by the Arrows in 1975. It is best known for its 1981 cover version by the American Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, which was released as the first single from her album of the same name. Jett’s rendition became her highest-charting hit in both the Uk and the US.

The Heart – The Shape

This record has been modelled into a a loving heart. The heart shape and its meaning has evolved over hundreds of years. Nowadays it means love but before the 13th and 14th centuries it was generally drawn for decorative purposes. People at that time thought of our hearts as books of memory and believed feelings for the beloved were somehow written on your heart.
