Sting – The Artist
Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner CBE (born 1951), known as Sting, is an English musician, activist and actor. He was the frontman, principal songwriter and bassist for new wave band the Police from 1977 until their breakup in 1986. He launched a solo career in 1985 and has included elements of rock, jazz, reggae, classical, new-age, and worldbeat in his music. With the Police, Sting became one of the world’s best-selling music artists. Solo and with the Police combined, he has sold over 100 million records.
If You Love Somebody set Them Free – The Song
“If You Love Somebody Set Them Free“ is the first single by English musician Sting from his solo debut album, The Dream of the Blue Turtles (1985). It is also the opening track of the album, and is featured on Fields of Gold: The Best of Sting 1984–1994 as well as The Very Best of Sting & The Police. Like much of the album, the song has heavy jazz influences, and was a major hit in the Uk and the US. The single launched a long string of singles (stretching over three albums) where Sting collaborated with New Orleans saxophonist and one-time Tonight Show bandleader Branford Marsalis.
Keys – The Shape
This record has been crafted into the silhouette of two keys. A key is a device that is used to operate a lock (to lock or unlock it). A typical key is a small piece of metal consisting of two parts: the bit or blade, which slides into the keyway of the lock and distinguishes between different keys, and the bow, which is left protruding so that torque can be applied by the user. In its simplest implementation, a key operates one lock or set of locks that are keyed alike, a lock/key system where each similarly keyed lock requires the same, unique key.
