KC & The Sunshine Band – The Artist
KC and the Sunshine Band is an American disco and funk band, founded in 1973 in Hialeah, Florida by Harry Wayne Casey (KC), a record store employee and part-timer at TK Records. The band took its name from lead vocalist Harry Wayne Casey’s last name (“KC”) and the “Sunshine Band” from KC’s home state of Florida, the Sunshine State.
Queen of Clubs – The Song
Queen of Clubs is a song by American funk disco group, KC and the sunshine band. It was released in 1975 and taken from the bands debut album ‘Do It Good.’ The album was focused towards upbeat funk, which would later turn into disco. After the song “Queen of Clubs” became a hit, the album was re-issued in 1978 with the title Queen of Clubs. The record had a new cover that featured a playing card with the Queen of Clubs on the front (the record label still gave the album title as Do It Good).
Clubs The Playing Card Suit – The Shape
This record has been crafted into a club as found on a standard pack of playing cards. A playing card is a piece of specially prepared card stock, heavy paper, thin cardboard, plastic-coated paper, cotton-paper blend, or thin plastic that is marked with distinguishing motifs. Often the front (face) and back of each card has a finish to make handling easier. They are most commonly used for playing card games, and are also used in magic tricks, cardistry, card throwing, and card houses; cards may also be collected. Playing cards are typically palm-sized for convenient handling, and usually are sold together in a set as a deck of cards or pack of cards.
The most common type of playing card in the West is the French-suited, standard 52-card pack, of which the most widespread design is the English pattern.
