An individual, limited edition, example of vinyl record art made from a genuine, original, 45rpm, 7” single featuring the song by synth pop band Visage and Steve Strange, from 1982, The Anvil. The record was released on the Polydor record label in the UK, and has been reworked into the shape of a blacksmiths anvil and hammer in recognition of the famous US gay club, The Anvil.

The Anvil was a legendary gay after-hours club where famous Danceteria DJ Bill Bahlman created the extremely popular “New Wave Nights at the Anvil”. Visage lead singer Steve Strange was so impressed with the power and fun of the energy-charged, steamy atmosphere, Strange decided to name Visage’s second album after the club. This track was his attempt to capture the energy of the club on vinyl.
